Description

CORBY 25Ep A Brexit bargain.

Drysailed each Summer and stored undercover every Winter.
Our 25Ep is more eager to pick up on a fetch than the heavier polyester 25s, she takes off on waves and retains speed though the gybes making it easier on our bowman !

The responsive, easily driven hull with its narrow, slick waterline reduces the wetted surface to give the ultimate light airs performance and yet the heavy 780kg keel and bulb provides all the stability required in heavy airs when beating or running, combine this with the efficient High aspect rig, modest working sail area and large masthead spinnaker = Fantastic all-round performance with the boat-speed and upwind angles many larger Cruiser / Racers can only envy.

The ballast to weight ratio provides devastating upwind performance even when sailing shorthanded with reduced crew / weight on the rail.

A perfectly balanced hull form and rig configuration which rewards the helmsman every time. With some intelligent sail trimming and precision steering this little boat becomes a 'Giant Slayer' ! Winning in all weather conditions proving her allround performance capabilities.

Irish national championships in Howth 2012, 4th overall in highly competative 30 boat IRC division 2.

2015 IRC endorsed rating 0.935

The C.25Ep Project-
To achieve the ultimate performance, a stiffer, lighter Hull and Deck was been laminated with FRP in Epoxy resin.post cured @ over 50 degrees C for 14 hours increasing stiffness by 20%.
Deck was constructed with sandwiched closed cell foam,
Hull is single skin epoxy with ringframes and stringers.

In order to reduce pitching moment, we have kept the weight to a minimum in both the fore and aft hull sections.

Snow White topsides with Misty Grey decks and waterline stripes, all professionally sprayed using epoxy primer, undercoat then durable G-Line paint from AWLGRIP.

Underside sprayed with 545 epoxy primer.

Carbon fibre rudderstock and tiller and upgraded with JEFA self aligning roller bearings. Many hours recently dedicated to template fairing of both rudder and keel which now generates optimum foil lift.

Yachts and Sailing Cruisers are one of the most popular categories of boats sailed in Ireland and typically range in overall length (LOA) from about 6 metres (20ft) to well over 30 metres (98ft). Anything bigger and it's a super-yacht! Boats value in price from simple starter boats for less than €20,000 but go right up to over €1million. Regardless of what you are after, we have a huge range in our listings below:

There is a vast array of makes models and types of rigs so choosing a yacht for sale can be hard for a novice. How can you tell a Beneteau from a Jeanneau? What's the difference between a sloop and a ketch? Yachts and sailing cruisers are commonly know by their rig and sail plan types: a Bermudan sloop is of the most common but gaff and ketch rigs are one of the most popular categories of boats sailed in Ireland.

Most sailing cruisers on Irish waters are in the six to ten metre category and offer the protection of a cabin for over nighting and the Irish climate. There are different types of sailing cruisers including day sailors which are just one step up from a dinghy, weekenders which might have a twin keel and then sailing cruisers by the far the most common type of yacht in private use, making up most of the 7 metres (23ft) - 14 metres (46ft) range.

Sailing cruisers are used for many different activities from gentle harbour sailing and day cruising right up to blue water cruising and voyages across oceans. Smaller sailing cruiser examples are yachts from the Beneteau and Jeanneau ranges, Westerly, Albin Vega, Galion, Hurley, Jaguar, Etap to name just a few. From 20 foot trailer-sailers right up to Volvo Ocean Racers (VOR) they have all featured on our sailing cruisers for sale pages.

There is a very active racing scene around Irish water and each year sailing cruisers come together for national championships of all types of boats that compete together based on size and handicaps. Production boats compete with quite a lot of custom made sailing cruiser racers such as designs from the drawing boards of naval architects such as Mark Mills, John Corby, Jason Ker and Bruce Farr.
