New Harbour Pontoon Is 'Best Thing Sligo Ever Did'

#SligoHarbour - Recent poor weather has forced a number of visiting yachts to hang tight in Sligo Port - but they were in no rush to leave as the annual Fleadh Cheoil took over the town this week.

As the Sligo Champion reports, many visitors are moored at the new Sligo Harbour Pontoon, described as "the greatest development Sligo County Council ever made" by one local boat owner.

And John Carton said an expansion of these initial steps would be even better for the northwest town, making things "a lot easier for tourists".

He added: "We've had guys from Shetland, Galway and the UK come in here last year especially for the Fleadh. The money they spend when they're here is unbelievable. They're spending between €1,000 - €2,000 when they're here in Sligo."

The Sligo Champion has more on the story HERE.
