Their staff are smartly dressed in company uniform and were helpful and polite during the recent Gold Anchor assessment. Staff training is taken seriously at Bangor and all are well trained and have received Welcome Host customer care training - this certainly shows.

Adjacent to good sailing waters this is an extremely well run marina and justly deserves its 5 Gold Anchor rating.

Andrew Jaggers, Harbour and Marina Manager and a Director of Quay Marinas Limited said: "The Quay Marinas team at Bangor are delighted that the marina has been awarded Five Gold Anchors following the most recent TYHA assessment.

This is our fourth such award and we believe it emphasises the consistently high standards of service and facilities that we have always strived to maintain on behalf of all our marina and harbour customers, and our Principals, North Down Borough Council."

The Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA) provides support for marinas and related business throughout the UK and internationally, services include:

The Gold Anchor Award Scheme, which has been operating for 23 years is based on the TYHA Code of Practice for the design construction and operation of marinas. Ratings range from one to five gold anchors. Any award issued is a sure sign of a credible, quality marina with the number of anchors demonstrating the facilities and standard of service available to berth holders and full compliance with statutory regulations.
