Afloat.ie: New Antares 30S from Beneteau

Beneteau's Antares 30S from BJ Marine is described as 'a perfect synthesis of space, performance and competitiveness' by the manufacturer. And they may have a good point: designed for cruising, the boat retains all the advantages of the Antares 30, without the flybridge.

CONTEMPORARY AND INNOVATIVE DESIGN

The Sarrazin design group have given the Antares 30S its modern and sporty lines and have also worked with precision to provide this version with a new roof, including two sliding opening panels. This gives the boat a dynamic look, which endows it with a sporty character.

LIGHT AND VENTILATION

Incorporating two sliding panels with integrated blinds on the coachroof, these two new openings bring an optimal lightness into the wheelhouse interior. In addition to the triple sliding door, these two apertures provide excellent ventilation for the interior living space.

SUPERB LIVING SPACES

This boat retains all the advantages of the Antares 30, in terms of living space, interior volume and stowage space:

  • Antares 30S• Owner’s cabin unique for a boat of this size, having a central berth mounted on struts to provide storage access
  • • Exceptionally spacious wheelhouse – U-shaped saloon convertible to double berth and with codriver’s seat
  • • Practical and fully equipped galley – gas hobs and oven, refrigerator, microwave, etc.

As on the Antares 30, the cockpit can be adapted according to the chosen sailing profile, having the possibility of fitting a bench seat with additional stowage units. And finally at the stern, the comfortable bathing platform provides easy access to the water or quayside.

PERFORMANCE

The Antares 30S has a progressive planing hull offering proven performance and a reassuring stability provided by the pronounced forward V and flared bow shape, with a top speed of 26 knots achievable in the 380hp Yanmar version. NOTE: A more economical 260hp Yanmar version is also on offer.
