Maher in World U23 Quarter-Finals

A second-place finish in his heat of the lightweight single scull gave Ireland's Michael Maher a place in the quarter-finals of the World Under-23 Championships in Racice in the Czech Republic. The Ireland lightweight double scull of Mark O'Donovan and Niall Kenny must compete in a repechage tomorrow after finishing fourth in their heat.
