Boat Show 2008 - New Beneteau Monte Carlo from BJ Marine

29th November -0001
Bénéteau’s new open sports boat, the Monte Carlo, offers extra stability as well as classic Italian designer looks. The former is thanks to its forward facing knuckles which separate the water streams from the hull and stop them re-adhering to it, thereby slowing the boat down. The result, says designer Pierangelo Andreani, is improved stability.
He has also introduced an air intake beneath the hull to create a cushion of air and this again leads to a reduction in friction and fuel consumption. The boat has a solid roof rather than a curtain or canvas cover, making it suitable for the Irish climate. Bénéteau’s Irish distributor is BJ Marine.

We've got a favour to ask

More people are reading Afloat.ie than ever thanks to the power of the internet but we're in stormy seas because advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news sites, we haven’t put up a paywall because we want to keep our marine journalism open.

Afloat.ie is Ireland's only full–time marine journalism team and it takes time, money and hard work to produce our content.

So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

If everyone chipped in, we can enhance our coverage and our future would be more secure. You can help us through a small donation. Thank you.
