The lifeboat with helm Peter Clarke, Colin Knight and Robbie Garland on board, launched at 14.44hrs, Monday April 13th.  Weather conditions were fair, with South Easterly winds Force 4 to 5 with frequent squalls.  The vessel was located aground on the south side of Young Island in Scarriff Bay.  The two persons on board were safe and unharmed.  With an RNLI crew member aboard the casualty vessel, it was established that the cruiser was not holed and she was taken off the rocks and towed into safe water.  A

full check of engine and steering was carried out and found to be in working order.  The lifeboat paced alongside the cruiser and the RNLI crew member transferred back to the lifeboat.  The cruiser continued on its journey.

The lifeboat returned to Station and was ready for service again at 16.00hrs

The Lifeboat Operations manager said that he was 'very pleased with the large turnout from crew to the station in response to the request to  launch'
