In the IRC 0 class, and one that is shaping up nicely, Royal Cork has a show of strength with some of its Commodores cup stars returning: Antony O’Leary Antix Dubh and Blondie skippered by Eamonn Rohan.
As a major boost for organisers a third of the entries are visitors. Visiting cluybs include Northern Ireland's Royal North of Ireland YC and Royal Ulster YC who will race for a special trophy to celebrate 125 years of Belfast boats travelling south to race on the bay. Royal Ulster are sending a fleet of White sail boats. Welsh clubs participating are Pwllheli SC and South Caernarvonshire YC and Clyde CC Helensburgh SC from Scotland.
English entries are in from Whitby and Liverpool YC, the latter sending a nine boat fleet.
There are entries for 21 of the 25 slated classes with the White sail fleet providing the biggest number to date with 20 so far.
Irish clubs entered to date hail from Arklow SC, Bray SC, Carlingford Lough YC, Carlingford SC, Royal Cork YC, Skerries SC, Poolbeg Yacht & Boat Club Sutton Dinghy Club, Malahide YC, Howth YC, Clontarf Yacht & Boat Club and the four water front clubs in Dun Laoghaire; National, Royal St. George, Royal Irish and Motor Yacht clubs.
