Baily Bowl regatta cut short by strong winds

17th May 2009

Racing under the shadow of a gale warning, Royal Alfed YC staged its annual two day Baily Bowl competition with the racing cut to only one race on Sunday for the SB3s and Dragon classes. Winning SB3 crew Sharkbait has posted video of thier winning result here. The Fylng Fifteens and the Squibs on a separate course fared better completing three races yesterday in testing 20 knot southerly winds. The big seas presented a problem for guests to the event, the Multihull class , many of them capsizing off Seapoint, one Hobie Cat was dismasted. Results here.
