Bourke is Etchells European champion

Dun Laoghaire's Jay Bourke crewed by David Cagney and Declan McManus is the new Etchells European champion following a successful showing by Irish crews who took the top four places at the 21-boat event in Wales. The Irish Sea event was run under the joint burgees of the Royal Mersey Yacht Club and Holyhead Sailing Club.

Second was the first of three Howth boats,Richard Burrows, David Burrows and Peter Coad sailing Matatu Dubh. Third was Fetching Stephen Quinn, Peter Kingston and Stephen O'Flaherty and fourth Alex Lacy, Paul Derham and Russell McGovern.
