The masters' fleet in the Lasers is for sailors aged 35 years and over, with three categories - Apprentice Master (35-44), Master (45-54) and Grand Master (55+).
Local sailor Gareth Flanagan topped a 33-boat fleet in Ballyholme to take the Irish Laser Masters Championships for 2009. It was a case of 'always the bridesmaid' for Flanagan, who failed to register a win all weekend, leaving six bullets to be shared out between the second and sixth place finishers.
