Podium finish for Dragon?

10th June 2009

ImageWith a finish time pencilled in for 01:00hrs on Thursday morning, it looks like Ireland's Green Dragon could post their best Volvo Ocean Race leg finish yet into Marstrand. But everything is to play for in the last few miles as they battle with Ericsson 4 and comeback kings, Puma.

The big cat came growling in from the west after taking a massive offshore flyer up the north sea, leapfrogging the pack from behind into third.

At the front, it has all been about Ericsson 4 and Green Dragon, who have duelled along the shore, eking out an advantage over the chasing group.

Just before 23:00, Ericsson 4 led Green Dragon by just two miles with Puma three miles further back.

However it turns out, it'll be another early morning, sleepless night and tense finish for the VOR fleet.
