#Summit@Sea - Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA),the world's largest cruise industry trade association, carried out its 2017 Summit at Sea –an exclusive, flagship event for cruise industry stakeholders.

Afloat adds that the event held on board Cunard Line's Queen Elizabeth, took place on a three-night cruise from Hamburg to Southampton. The 90,000 tonnes cruiseship arrived this morning at the UK's main cruise port from where many voyages depart to include calls to Irish ports.

Once onboard in Hamburg, attendees were welcomed by Carnival UK chairman, David Dingle, senior cruise industry leaderswill engage in business discussions on the most important topics facing the cruise industry today, including an exclusive discussion lead by CLIA Cruise Line Member presidents.

“I am delighted that Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth has been chosen to host the 2017 CLIA Summit at Sea,” said Cunard senior vice president, Simon Palethorpe. “Our ship and crew look forward to
welcoming our industry partners and colleagues aboard for what I am sure will be an extremely informative and enjoyable conference.”

While onboard, the more than 150 attendees will also have access to behind-the-scenes tours, networking opportunities and social functions.

This year’s event follows the inaugural Summit that took place last year in the Mediterranean aboard MSC Preziosa which Afloat also adds is calling to Dublin Port tomorrow.

CLIA’s annual Summit at Sea is an exclusive event of CLIA’s Executive Partner Program. Bringing together key suppliers and partners to the cruise industry, the program boasts more than 300 partners across the port & destination, travel & tourism, technical &supply chain, andprofessional services providers.
