If you've just launched your boat it might be a good time to double check your bailer is operational. Just as boats were swinging on moorings again Met Eireann has issued a Weather Warning. There is a danger that rain forecast tonight may turn to sleet or snow at times as cold air spreads down from the north from Monday evening onwards.
Rain will spread from the southwest this evening and will reach most of the country by Monday morning. The rain will persist throughout Monday and much of Tuesday before finally clearing from the west, though the clearance may not reach eastern areas until Wednesday morning. Rainfall totals for the period could reach as high as 50mm or more in parts of Munster and Leinster possibly leading to some localised flooding. Rainfall totals in the northwest will be considerably less - probably no higher than 10 to 15 mm there.
