Organisers are planning to use GPS to track the fleet south for the first time an innovation now widely used in other offshore events around the world.
Form boats inlcude Gallileo fom the host club. The Beneteau 47.7, owned and sailed by Sean Lemass, Tony Tennyson and Kellher won this month's Lee Overlay race to Arklow. Legally Brunette an X41 design, from the Royal St. George and sailed by Cathal Drohan and Paul Egan are recent winners in Malta's Middle sea race. Also entered are four J109s.
Registration shall take place between 1600 and 1800 hours on Friday 5th June at the National Yacht Club. A competitor’s briefing will be held at 1830hrs in the Club.
The start shall be in the vicinity of Dun Laoghaire Harbour on Saturday 6th June 2009. The scheduled time for the warning signal is 1000 hrs. There will be a Race Prizegiving Dinner in The Dingle Skellig Hotel on the evening of Tuesday, 9th June 2009. More here.
