RC Laser Sailing Kicks off

Winter Racing: RC Laser sailing is starting again at the National YC. The normal Sunday series commences on November 8th. Start time will be 2.00pm with a couple of practice races and the counting races will start at 2.30pm. It is planned to organise 10 races within a 2 hour time frame and finish up by 4.30pm at the latest. As usual the class is trying hard to sail as often as possible from the East Pier where the removal of the buildings from the Carlisle Pier should improve the quality of the wind.

There will be a monthly league with the weekly results aggregated for every Sunday sailed. Each Sunday, discards will be applied as follows; 3 if 10 races sailed, 2 if 7 races sailed and 1 if only 4 are sailed. No discard for 3 or less races. We've got a favour to ask

More people are reading Afloat.ie than ever thanks to the power of the internet but we're in stormy seas because advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news sites, we haven’t put up a paywall because we want to keep our marine journalism open.

Afloat.ie is Ireland's only full–time marine journalism team and it takes time, money and hard work to produce our content.

So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

If everyone chipped in, we can enhance our coverage and our future would be more secure. You can help us through a small donation. Thank you.
