#oppie – Skerries Sailing Club Junior Section will host the IODAI Leaseplan sponsored Optimist National Sailing Championships between August 13 and 16. Upwards of 200 young sailors are expected at the event. Over a four-day series of races plucky kids from every corner of Ireland will pit their sailing abilities against each other as well as entrants from France, the UK, Spain and the USA. The fleet includes local Skerries ace Peter Fagan who finished top Irish at the recent British Optimist Nationals.
The full list of registered entries for the senior, junior and regatta fleets is downloadable below. The fleet will include some of the top Irish Optimist sailors who competed at the Europeans in Wales last month. An Irish Optimist World's Team will compete later this month in Poland.
