Jenny Egan Sixth in World Championships Final

#Canoeing: Jenny Egan finished sixth in the K1 (racing kayak) 5,000 metres on the final day of the canoe sprint World Championships in Milan. The Irishwoman was 11.26 seconds behind the winner, Maryna Litvinchuk of Belarus. Peter Egan finished 24th in the men’s 5,000 metres, the final race of the Championships. Earlier, Barry Watkins had finished sixth in the B final of the K1 500 metres, 15th overall.

Men

K1 500m – B Final (Places 10 to 18): 6 B Watkins 1 min 45.063 seconds.

K1 5,000m – Final: 24 P Egan 22 mins 01.64 seconds.

Women

K1 500m – C Final (Places 19 to 27): 6 J Egan 1:57.717

K1 5,000m – Final: 6 J Egan 22:47.32
