Get 'Hooked' On Kitesurfing In Wexford Next Weekend

#Kitesurfing - The second round of Ireland's kitesurfing Nationals will be star attraction at the Hooked Kitefest on Duncannon Beach in Co Wexford next weekend (22-23 August).

As Independent.ie reports, spectators are set to be dazzled by more than 50 kitesurfers from across Ireland taking flight on the waves during what's the sixth year for the annual festival in the Wexford village.

"We are delighted to the large number of competitors already registered for this event," said organiser Niall Roche at last week's launch, "and because the weather hasn't been the best for sunbathing this summer, it has been fantastic for kite surfing, so everyone has been getting lots of practice sessions in.

"This is going to be a well fought competition with lots of thrills for competitors and spectators alike.”

And what kind thrills should spectators expect? Maybe something along the likes of Waterford kitesurfer Sean Murphy's recent mega-jump taking advantage of high winds off Tramore, as Joe.ie recently highlighted.
