Ports Group ABP Wins ‘Employer of the Year’ and ‘Maritime 2050’ Categories at Maritime UK Awards

Associated British Ports (ABP) has won the ‘Employer of the Year’ and ‘Maritime 2050’ categories at the MaritimeUK Awards held in Hull, the English north-east port on the North Sea. The UK’s largest ports group, Associated British Ports (ABP) has won in two categories at the prestigious Maritime UK Awards.

The ceremony was recently held in Hull, the Yorkshire port on the North Sea, which also is fittingly home to of one of ABP’s ports.

As Afloat reported the Maritime UK Awards is in recognition of the collective voice for the UK's maritime industries and follows a number of significant steps taken by ABP to empower employees and create a great place to work.

In addition to the port group taking a leading role in delivering the objectives of the Maritime 2050 Strategy.

ABP has 21 ports that handles around one quarter of the UK’s seaborne trade, and over £150 billion of British trade annually.

The ports are located throughout the UK: in south-west Scotland, the Irish Sea (Silloth, Barrow, Fleetwood and Garston, the latter port on Merseyside) in south Wales and on England's east and south coasts.
