Mobile promo unit for Waterways
Waterways Ireland are hitting the road this year with a new mobile promotion unit to spread the word of Ireland's inland waterways at major events around the country. The trailer will pitch up at Triathlone and the National Ploughing Championships to spread the word.

Waterways Ireland, in support of the many events and promotional activities taking place along the navigations in 2010 will be maximising the marketing opportunity provided to highlight the event, the waterway, Inland Waterways and the organisation through a new exhibition trailer.

“The trailer will provide a sound and visual focal point for Waterways Ireland at events and exhibitions” said Martin Dennany, Director of Marketing & Communications. “The full colour exterior highlights a range of different waterways activity including cruising, sailing, rowing and wakeboarding”, he added. The interior of the trailer has a storage area and a display area from which different activities can be promoted.

The stage area will facilitate the making of presentations and presenting of awards while the ramp will ensure full accessibility for people with a physical impairment. The Trailer will attend a series of Discover events supported by Waterways Ireland in partnership with Fáilte Ireland.

The trailer will also be a feature at the Waterways Ireland European TriAthlone taking place in early July and at the National Ploughing Championship in September. Waterways Ireland strives to promote the waterways as a first class recreational resource. This trailer will help showcase the waterways while also improving the accessibility of Waterways Ireland to people attending events and exhibitions all along the navigations.

We've got a favour to ask

More people are reading than ever thanks to the power of the internet but we're in stormy seas because advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news sites, we haven’t put up a paywall because we want to keep our marine journalism open. is Ireland's only full–time marine journalism team and it takes time, money and hard work to produce our content.

So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

If everyone chipped in, we can enhance our coverage and our future would be more secure. You can help us through a small donation. Thank you.
