Tributes have been paid to east Belfast maritime businessman Tommy Rodgers, whose funeral took place today, the Belfast Telegraph reports.
Entering the industry at the tender age of 15, Rodgers went on to found TR Shipping Servies and later the TR Group, which includes shipping and cargo firms in the UK and the Netherlands.
Rodgers served as a president of the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce among other top positions in trade associations.
But he is also remembered for his charitable work, serving on the board of the Simon Community charity appeal and being awarded an MBE for his services to the homeless in 1997.
Tommy Rodgers is survived by his wife Linda and sons Neil and Michael.
