#ClassicYacht- An almost 90 year-old classic motor-yacht that docked in Dun Laoghaire Harbour for a week but for 'maintenance' reasons, departed yesterday to resume cruising Scottish waters, writes Jehan Ashmore.
The 262ft long charter-yacht MY Talitha was alongside the harbour's St. Michaels Wharf where work was carried out on the 1929 custom built luxurious charter-yacht that features interior art-deco designs. As for the exterior, the clipper bow sweeps along the hull lines of the classic yacht that exudes elegance.
Accommodation is for 12 guests and pampered by a crew of 18. A ‘low-rate’ for cruising in northern Europe and the Mediterranean will however set you back a mere €433,125 per week.
Afloat has tracked the 1,103 tonnes yacht registered in Hamilton, Bermuda this morning between the Mull of Kintyre and Jura. It was off the Outer Hebridean island from where the motor-yacht had previously visited until having to head for Dun Laoghaire.
The yacht with its pair of black-topped pale yellow funnels is powered by twin Caterpillar engines that generates a cruising speed of 12.8 knots.
