The ferry operator Stena Line has moved to quash rumours of any downgrading of their service on the Rosslare-Fishguard route.

Rumours had been rife on industry websites that the long-serving Stena Europe was to be replaced permanently with the smaller Stena Nordica.

The Nordica is a significantly smaller vessel, carrying a maximum of 300 cars and 405 passengers compared to the Stena Europe’s 564 cars and 1,386 passengers.

While the Nordica is slated to cover the Rosslare-Fishguard route when the Stena Europe enters scheduled dry dock later this year, Stena Line has dismissed suggestions that this change will be permanent.
