#SoldShipSails – Island Mariner, the recently renamed former detained bulk-carrier Clipper Faith, departed Dublin Port for the first time yesterday since her arrival more than four months ago, writes Jehan Ashmore.
The 29,501dwt bulker had loaded a cargo of animal products in New Orleans and docked in Dublin Port days before the St. Patrick's weekend.
As previously reported on Afloat.ie the seized Chinese built vessel was sold in June for €4.5m to new owners Lynx Shipping Company.
The 181m bulker has also reflagged to Liberia and re-registered in the West African state's capital of Monrovia.
During this week Island Mariner had shifted berths from the Coal Quay, where she has remained mostly during these months and finally sailed away, however the vessel remains in Irish waters having anchored overnight in Dublin Bay.
