#Ports&Shipping - One of the best-known faces on Irish and British TV, comedian and television presenter Dara Ó Briain will be among guest speakers in the UK, at the Freight Transport Association's Logistics Awards next week, writes Jehan Ashmore.

The prestigious FTA's gala dinner awards in London, sponsored by the Port of Dover, will start with a champagne reception in the Royal Lancaster Hotel on Thursday 13 December where a welcome speech is to be presented by the UK Secretary of State for Transport Chris Grayling, MP.

Following the politician's speech at the gala dinner, O'Briain will be providing post-dinner entertainment. According to the FTA, a limited number of tables remain at the Logistics Awards, so book now to avoid dissapointment by clicking this link.

The event ideal for networking and providing insights for leaders across the logistics sector, as well as celebrating the Award winners who have excelled in the fields of sea, rail, road and air.

After dinner the much anticipated Awards ceremony will take place, where those attending will be able to celebrate the achievements of fellow peers, including the announcement of the prestigious FTA Lifetime Achievement Award. This award is in recognition of a significant contribution to keeping UK industry at the forefront of the global economy.
