Costello launches new Tiamat

26th May 2008

Though she missed the IRC championships in Howth and this weekend's Scottish series concluding today Tim Costello's class one boat for the Irish Green Commodores Cup Team is on the water and heading for her home port of Dun Laoghaire this week.

The Mark Mills design 43 footer, is repoted to be a scaled up hybrid of the Cork yacht Mariner Cove that is on top form in Scotland and Costello's old Tiamat.

The new boat is also named Tiamat but as our weekend photographs (below) will reveal she is already dressed in new sponsors livery.

She hit the water on Saturday in the Solent for the first time to take in the level rating 45 footer event. Observers will note her fixed spirt rather than a telescopic one.

So you can see why we need to ask for your help.
