Dilleen wins junior final in Munich

Lisa Dilleen won the A Final at the prestigious Munich Junior Regatta this afternoon. The Galway woman saw off early leader Marie-Catherine Arnold of Germany by half way and then won a battle with Rachael Gamble-Flint in the closing stages, coming home over five seconds clear of the Briton. Dilleen and Laura D’Urso, who was rested today, team up in the double scull tomorrow. Results over the fold:

Men, Single Scull- Heat Three: 4 Ireland (P Grogan) 8:10.36.

Women, Single Scull  - Heat Two: 1 Ireland (L Dilleen) 8:23.21, 2 Britain (R Gamble-Flint) 8:26.53, 3 France (H Lefebvre) 8:28.38. A Final: 1 Ireland (Dilleen) 8:47.15, 2  Britain (Gamble-Flint) 8:52.26, 3 Germany (M-C Arnold) 9:02.25, 4 Slovenia (A Sesum) 9:08.25, 5 Germany (S Wittemann) 9:09.70, 6 Romania (A Tudosanu) 9:25.57.
