20 metres of floating jetties installed

3rd April 2009

Waterways Ireland has confirmed that work has been completed at Camus on the Lower Bann Navigation with the installation of 20 metres of floating jetties. The jetties which will open to the public from beginning of April 2009 will add to the boaters experience of the Lower Bann in 2009.

The floating jetties form part of a £194,000 programme of work which also included the construction of a rock armour retaining wall.

Investment by Waterways Ireland on the Lower Bann in 08/09 has reached approximately £330,000. The upgrade of facilities at Camus as well as at Portglenone Wood were the two main elements of the programme.

The project has been designed and commissioned by Waterways Ireland. The works have been contracted to Ward Contracts of Magherafelt. Waterways Ireland would like to thank Coleraine Borough Council for their assistance with this project.

So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

If everyone chipped in, we can enhance our coverage and our future would be more secure. You can help us through a small donation. Thank you.
