Dillen and D'Urso Win Gold at Munich Junior Regatta

Lisa Dilleen and Laura D’Urso won gold in  the double scull at Munich junior regatta today. The Tribesmen/City of Derry composite were by far the fastest home on the day. They had over 12 seconds to spare over second-placed Sandra Kuchle and Jenny Medow of Germany in the first heat. Under the rules of the regatta the fastest time in two heats determined the winner, and the second heat was much slower. Results over the fold:

Men, Single Scull – Heat One: 5 Ireland (P Grogan) 7:52.79.

Women – Double Scull (Results of Two Heats determine placing: Heat

One: 1 Ireland (L Dilleen, L D’Urso) 7:29.36, 2 Germany (S Kuchle, J

Medow) 7:41.98, 3 Romania (A Postavaru, S Avadanei) 7:45.46. Heat Two:

1 Poland (J Dittmann, M Ciaciuch) 7:50.16, 2 Slovenia 7:50.96, 3

Germany 7:55.93. Ireland win gold as fastest crew overall.
