Asterix revels in blustery conditions

Dun Laoghaire Motor Yacht Club entry Asterix (John Counihan and Frazer Meredith) made the most of gusty north-westerly winds when they won class 3 IRC in today's Dublin Bay Sailing Club's Saturday race. Second was Royal Irish yacht Super nova skippered by Ken Lawless. Third in class three was club-mates Graiine and Sean o'Shea's Gung-Ho.Winds ranging in strength from 14-25 knots, an ebbing tide and a flat sea produced tough sailing conditions for the entire fleet.
