Frank Hugelmeyer has been elected as the new President of the International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA) Board.
The announcement came during the 59th ICOMIA Annual General Meeting on 29 May 2025.
The non-profit international trade association brings together national recreational marine industry associations, including the Irish Marine Federation, and represents them at an international level.
Hugelmeyer, President and CEO of the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), will serve a two-year term. Based in Washington, D.C., he has led NMMA since 2019.
During his leadership, NMMA has advocated for the recreational boating industry in North America. This includes successfully navigating challenges such as the global pandemic.
Hugelmeyer has worked on enhancing consumer visibility and growing the boating market. He stated, “It is a special honour to be elected President of the ICOMIA board.”
At the AGM, four new Board Members were elected: Alpaslan Sirkecioglu (YATED, Türkiye), Jose Luis Fayos (ANEN, Spain), Mats Eriksson (SWEBOAT, Sweden), and Andrew Scott (BIA, Australia).
The Board also appointed Jarkko Pajusalo of FINNBOAT, Finland, as the new Vice President.
