#CapacityReport - The 2017 edition of the Irish Freight RoRo and LoLo Capacity Analysis and Report reveals that the combined amount of freight RoRo and LoLo vessel capacity employed serving the Irish market in April 2017 stands at an annual equivalent of 4.2 million units (trailers and FEU).

This represents an increase of 3.9% compared to the capacity serving the market in December 2014, a 28-month development period. The overall increase in capacity of 158,000 units is roughly equivalent to an additional daily freight RoRo ferry service across the Irish Sea (two sailings per day in each direction).

Market sectors covered: All scheduled RoRo ferry and container services calling at Irish ports destined to the UK and European Continent, divided into four sub-sectors: Ireland/UK RoRo, Ireland/UK LoLo, Ireland/Continent RoRo and Ireland/Continent LoLo.

This Fourth Edition of the report published by UK shipping and transport analysts, PRB Associates  provides a full evaluation of current Irish ferry and container service market capacity.

The report highlights market changes in the period since 2015, when the last Irish Report was published, and traces market development over the last seventeen years, with developments planned for 2017 and 2018 also identified.

With detailed appendices, the Report provides a comprehensive overview and assessment of Ireland’s unit load shipping service connections to help companies assess concentrations of capacity supply and the best routes to market.

The report examines how the market has changed and developed and how capacity is being adapted to meet changing demand. Market capacity is assessed by geographic sector, route, port and service to pinpoint capacity shares and areas of growth and contraction.
