Win a Sail with 49er Champs

22nd April 2010
Win a Sail with 49er Champs

If the 49er dinghy feature in Afloat's current issue whetted your apetite for the twin wire dinghy then a competition to win a trip out with the 49er World Champions will be right up your street. Olympic medalist Chris Draper and his world champion crew, Pete Greenhalgh are in training, hoping to be selected as the 49er Team for Skandia Team GBR, at the 2012 Olympic Games in Weymouth. Competition is fierce, just for selection but Chris and Peter are determined to give it everything they’ve got. They're offering the competition as part of the build-up to the trials.

You can experience a day in the life of the guys; chat with them as they rig up the boat, go out and watch them from the coaching RIB. Then take a ride of your life, on the exciting high performance Olympic 49er.

Afterwards, you will have lunch with the team and pick up your goody bag, packed full of mementos of your day.

To enter the competition, go to the team web site here.

Good luck! The Competition closes 1st May 2010 and is subject to health and safety issues concerning the sailing! We're not surprised.

We've got a favour to ask

More people are reading Afloat.ie than ever thanks to the power of the internet but we're in stormy seas because advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news sites, we haven’t put up a paywall because we want to keep our marine journalism open.

Afloat.ie is Ireland's only full–time marine journalism team and it takes time, money and hard work to produce our content.

So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

If everyone chipped in, we can enhance our coverage and our future would be more secure. You can help us through a small donation. Thank you.
