Watson Sails Launches Boat Optimisation Service
Dublin's Philip Watson, one of Ireland's most experienced sailmakers, has broadened his professional horizons by offering a new boat optimisation service. A lifelong and experienced sailor, his time in performance sailing has made him an acknowledged expert in squeezing that bit of extra push out of any boat he steps on. While he's been running Watson Sails, he's also been out on the water getting all that information about how to win races and feel safe and comfortable on your boat.

Based in Malahide, Co. Dublin, Philip will be quite happy to chat about your boat and what you want from it, and says: "A lot of the fun in racing is winning, and making a fast, safe and efficient passage when cruising is truly satisfying. We can help you with any aspect of boat performance: selection of equipment or the techniques of using it. You can benefit from decades of race winning experience, and thousands of miles of cruising, including a fifteen-day Atlantic crossing. You don’t have to buy a new boat or even order a sail to improve your sailing enjoyment next year!"

We've got a favour to ask

More people are reading Afloat.ie than ever thanks to the power of the internet but we're in stormy seas because advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news sites, we haven’t put up a paywall because we want to keep our marine journalism open.

Afloat.ie is Ireland's only full–time marine journalism team and it takes time, money and hard work to produce our content.

So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

If everyone chipped in, we can enhance our coverage and our future would be more secure. You can help us through a small donation. Thank you.
