The first two World Cup Regattas of the rowing season have been called off. The hosts were courses in Sabaudia (April 10th to 12th) and Varese (May 1st to 3rd), both in Italy. Fisa has decided that it was not safe to hold them because of the presence of Covid-19. Fisa says that the regattas will not be rescheduled. Ireland was set to compete in Sabaudia.
There is ongoing consultation about the rest of the international season in Europe. Ireland has also targeted the Olympic Qualification Regatta and the final World Cup, both in Lucerne in Switzerland in May.
Fisa will make a further statement on St Patrick’s Day.
