Cork's Eamon Rohan has the upper hand, 3.5 points clear of Dave Dwyer's Marinercove.ie on 15 points in tomorrow's last races of the O'Flynn Exhams October league in Cork Harbour. His superbly turned-out Blondie leads class zero, and is already wound up to Commodore’s Cup level. Her crew include three visiting UK sailors who raced the boat in Cowes two years ago, including Mark Richmond, helmsman, professional Neil Mackley of North Sails and Ben Field. An Irish Times article on how the event has produced a blue print for the 2010 Irirsh Commodore's Cup team is here. A forum thread here is asking how the teams will form? And we're polling who will win ICRA's boat of the year? Here.

We've got a favour to ask
More people are reading Afloat.ie than ever thanks to the power of the internet but we're in stormy seas because advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news sites, we haven’t put up a paywall because we want to keep our marine journalism open.
Afloat.ie is Ireland's only full–time marine journalism team and it takes time, money and hard work to produce our content.
So you can see why we need to ask for your help.
If everyone chipped in, we can enhance our coverage and our future would be more secure. You can help us through a small donation. Thank you.
