ISORA chief Peter Ryan will call Friday's (September 27th) course early on the morning of the race based on the latest weather forecasts.
"I’m calling the course first thing in the morning. It’s either east Kish and back or Moulditch and back", Ryan advised the 11-boat fleet, including the Royal Irish's big Ker 46 Searcher.
Moulditch is expected to be selected if rough seas are likely around the Dublin Bay sand banks.
Ryan also warns "the weather is changing fast. If it's still honking, I'll cancel it".
Winds are forecast to be from the northwest on the bay and gusting up to 30 mph on Friday night.
In a double header weekend for Irish Sea offshore fans, the night race will be a three-hour race starting at 18.00, and the postponed Irish coastal race two will be on Saturday, September 28th, with the usual 10.00 start for a five-hour race.
