#teamracing – Two Irish teams will represent Ireland in the upcoming ISAF Team Racing worlds in Rutland from the 18th to the 25th of July, teams from Britain, USA, Canada, Australia, Italy, Japan will also take part in the event divided into two groups, the Open Division and the Youth (U19) Division.
Both Irish teams are present and past pupils of Schull Community College with the Open team consisting of, Mark Hassett, Fionn Lyden, Oisin O'Driscoll, Liam Manning, Ellen O'Regan and Katie Moynihan. The Youth team consisting of Isaac McCarthy Fisher, Florence Lyden, Noah McCarthy Fisher, Anna O'Regan, Sinead Barnett and Caoilainn O'Regan.
The event was last held in Schull in 2011 with both the Open and Youth events been won by West Kirby sailing teams, with Schull Youth taking the Silver, three of that team are now on the Open team with the three helms all on ISA Academy's, both Irish teams have been training hard together under the guidance of David Harte their travelling coach.
