C Final Placings for Jezierski and Jenny Egan at World Championships

#Canoeing: Ireland’s Jenny Egan and Andrzej Jezierski will compete in C Final at the canoe sprint World Championships. Egan finished sixth in her semi-final of the K1 (racing kayak) 500 metres in Milan. Jezierski finished fifth in his semi-final of the C1 (Canadian canoe) 200m, 20th in terms of speed.

Barry Watkins placed seventh in his semi-final of the K1 1,000 metres and missed out on a placing in the finals, as did the K2 200m crew of Peter Egan and Simas Dobrovolskis, who finished eighth in their semi-final.

Canoe Sprint World Championships, Milan, Day Two (Irish interest)

Men

C1 200m – Heat Four (First 7 qualify for semi-final): 5 A Jezierski 42.325. Semi-Final Four: 5 Jezierski 40.701.

K1 1,000m – Heat Three (First 5 qualify for semi-final): 5 B Watkins 3:39.645. Semi-Final Two: 7 Watkins 3:37.804.

K2 200 – Heat Five (First 7 qualify for semi-final): 5 P Egan, S Dobrovolskis 35.822. Semi-Final One: 8 Egan, Dobrovolskis 35.189.

Women

K1 500m – Heat Six (First 6 qualify for semi-finals): 5 J Egan 1 min 57.875 sec. Semi-Final Three: 6 Egan 1:52.41.
