#kitesurf – At 6.20 am this Friday 19th of July, Bruno Sroka left Penn enez beach at the Aber Wrac'h in Brittany to achieve his long-awaited crossing heading towards Crosshaven (Cork harbour, Ireland)! With a 16 knots speed north-east wind he started with his kitesurf in the colors of Ireland for 240 nautical miles (444 km). It's the first time ever that a kitesurfer realises such a challenge!He hopes to take up this challenge in about 16 hours and reach the land on the other side of the Channel to 10.00 pm

"We were expecting that day from the first of July, but with this beautiful weather we had no wind at all, either in Britanny or in the Bay of Cork Ireland. So I 'm ready, my goal is really to get the other side, I do not have time to break, I'm the first to make the crossing in kitesurf.

The weather is a bit strong on the start with almost 17 knots of wind, it'll be hard! Then the Scilly Isles will be difficult to negotiate because the wind will be very unstable. In the middle of the crossing I should finally reach 10-12 knots speed and 8 knots at the end, hoping that it won't be less!So here we go, see you tonight in Crosshaven, Ireland ", told Bruno Sroka before departure.
