Moynihan and Kenny Dead Heat in Trial

Cathal Moynihan and Niall Kenny dead-heated in the final of the men’s lightweight single scull at the National Trials in Cork. Michael Maher and Justin Ryan were next to finish. Siobhan McCrohan won the women’s lightweight trial from Claire Lambe. Cormac Folan and Sean Jacob were by far the most impressive men’s pair on show.

National Trials, National Rowing Centre, Cork (Selected Results) Men Pair: 1 S Jacob/C Folan (heavyweight) 7 minutes 1 second, 2 A English/P Hanily (Under-23 lightweight) 7:16, 3 D Neale/F Manning (under-23 heavyweight) 7:29. Lightweight Single Sculls: 1= C Moynihan, N Kenny, 3 M Maher. Women Single Scull: 1 S Puspure 8:04, 2 M Dukarska (under-23) 8:06, 3 L Dilleen (under-23) 8:14. Lightweight Single Scull: 1 S McCrohan 8:13, 2 C Lambe (under-23) 8:19, 3= S Jacob, S Clavin, D Kelly 8:28.0.
