The bad weather has forced the cancellation of the Ireland trial which was scheduled for the National Rowing Centre this weekend. One crucial aspect of the trial, tests for the senior women’s sweep group, will go ahead – in Gavirate in Italy.

The Ireland heavyweight squad has been training in Italy, and the women who will, all going well, form an Ireland four and pair for Tokyo will be trialled in Gavirate. The plan is to send an Ireland four to the Olympic Qualifier in May in Lucerne, Switzerland. The pair was qualified at last year’s World Championships.
