Sunseekers Portofino 47 makes its debut at Malahide boat show and already theres plenty of talk about the companys decision to offer the choice between conventional shaft drive or Volvo IPS engine arrangements. The version on show will be IPS with a top speed of 37 knots and she is on show in Sunseekers patented colours of navy blue and white.
At 35+ knots top speed for both, the choice will be made after considering fuel economy and ease of handling. The shaft drive offers great big sea performance but IPS offers so much control for tight situations and a great deal more in fuel economy that will save you bucket loads.
Against its rivals, such as the Jeanneau Prestige 50 or the Fairline Targa 47, theres considerable difference in styling and accommodation that will come down to personal choice. MGM Marine is the Sunseeker distributor in Ireland.
The second Sunseeker, again in navy blue and white, is one of the most popular 60s on the market. It has proved very popular with Irish clients and MGM have sold six, building on the success of its sales of the 50-footer, 11 of which have been sold.
The Manhattan 60 has a retractable bathing platform and dinghy and proves popular because of its manouvrability that is a boon in the charter market. She is on the market in Malahide from E1.75 million tax paid.
