Boat Show 2008 - SailTime launch in Ireland with Oceanis 31

2nd April 2008
A sailing membership venture which has enjoyed great success since its set-up in the US in 2001 has now launched in Ireland.
Sailtime Ireland offers members use of a new Bénéteau Oceanis seven times a month, or for a total of six weeks during the year. Sailtime uses its sailtime.ie website to schedule trips, and pre- and post-sail checklists are recorded via BlackBerry. “SailTime appeals not just to the experienced sailor who sees the tremendous convenience and the opportunity to reduce costs,” said SailTime Ireland owner, Brian O’Regan, who says he was attracted to the concept immediately. “For many, SailTime is the perfect way to get into sailing or to build experience to Day Skipper level and beyond.” SailTime Ireland will launch at the Malahide Boat Show and begin operations in Dublin with an Oceanis 31.

We've got a favour to ask

More people are reading Afloat.ie than ever thanks to the power of the internet but we're in stormy seas because advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news sites, we haven’t put up a paywall because we want to keep our marine journalism open.

Afloat.ie is Ireland's only full–time marine journalism team and it takes time, money and hard work to produce our content.

So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

If everyone chipped in, we can enhance our coverage and our future would be more secure. You can help us through a small donation. Thank you.
