New ranges from Henri Lloyd

13th October 2009
New ranges from Henri Lloyd
Henri Lloyd has entered what is, they say, an exciting phase with the launch of several new ranges and products in their mission to become a greener manufacturing company through an infinite recycling programme. Just in time for 2010 is the Henri Lloyd Ainslie Junior range – more over the fold.

The Ainslie Junior Range has been inspired by Ben Ainslie’s sailing career through Optimists, Lasers and Finns and, more recently, America’s Cup sailing. Ben’s knowledge and sailing experience was fundamental in creating a Junior Range that has a unique design and carries the Ben Ainslie signature logo throughout all the products.

Henri Lloyd and Ben Ainslie have a long history together. Ben has been supported by Henri Lloyd since 1996 which has included his Sydney, Athens and Beijing gold medal winning successes along with other big boat campaigns. In 2007 Henri Lloyd announced the sponsorship of Ben until 2013.

As Ben states, “I have been sailing since the age of eight and know how important it is to be properly kitted out whilst on the water, therefore developing a junior clothing range was really important to me, especially if it will inspire young sailors. Henri Lloyd understand the needs of the sailor and we have designed a range that is fun and comfortable, enabling you to move freely around the boat and focus on performing on the water.”

image_1.jpgOne of the products within the collection is the Ainslie Hiking Short, pictured left. These ¾ length neoprene shorts have been designed to provide support, comfort and protection whilst hiking. The main feature of the shorts being the incorporation of strong non-flex battens which help the wearer to hike for longer periods of time. As with all Henri Lloyd technical clothing comfort is paramount and the double thickness neoprene under the batten panels provide support, comfort and protection; adjustable shoulder straps offer a more versatile fit and protective knee pads provide longevity from deck abrasion.

“It was a pleasure to work with Ben on the development of this range and the combination of our technical manufacturing expertise and the valuable input from Ben has resulted in a hugely successful range of technical clothing and accessories for young sailors.” Paul Strzelecki; Henri Lloyd Joint Chief Executive.
