Crewsaver Releases New 190n Lifejacket

26th October 2009
Crewsaver Releases New 190n Lifejacket

Crewsaver says it has 'raised the bar' on lifejacket design with the launch of an all-new Crewfit lifejacket aimed squarely at today's boating enthusiast. The Crewfit 190N is packed with cutting edge design features and offers exceptional performance in the most demanding environments.

Lightweight, extremely comfortable to wear and thoroughly modern, the 190N is much shorter and more compact than the ever-popular Crewfit 150N - a benchmark for quality and performance over many years.

Approved to the new standard BS EN ISO 12402, the Crewfit 190N has a special patented inflation chamber designed to support the user in complete safety, even when wearing heavy waterproof clothing.  When inflated two asymmetric lobes overlap to provide maximum turning performance when unconscious. The curved outer shaping and neck design increase mouth freeboard and ensure the wearer's head is kept well clear of the water and at the optimum angle.

Other advanced features include a new lifejacket cover, which is shaped three-dimensionally to follow the body’s natural contours. An integrated back mesh panel and fixed dual crutch straps help keep the lifejacket in the correct position at all times.

Adjusting the waist belt has been simplified by having an intuitive strap system positioned at the back of the product. This makes donning the lifejacket easier and quicker and ensures a correct and comfortable fit.  The front buckle is used just for fastening the lifejacket.

Other new features include belt tidies to neatly stow excess webbing, a soft feel collar, a re-designed sprayhood which is permanently attached on the Plus models, dual lifting beckets, reflective tape, reflective piping and a whistle.

Available in either a Black/Grey or Red/Grey colour combination, the Crewfit 190N range comprises a Crewfit 190N with velcro closure, a Crewfit 190N Junior and a Crewfit 190N with a YKK quick burst zip closure.  The latter ensures the cover remains securely intact in the harshest environments. All the lifejackets are available with or without a harness and with optional sprayhood and light. All of them are fitted with a MK5i Standard Automatic Inflation mechanism using a 38g CO2 cylinder, which is protected by a Neoprene cover.

Said Martin Jerrett, Crewsaver's General Manager: "We are very proud of our new Crewfit 190N range. Having spent many months testing and adjusting the design we have created a product that not only delivers exceptional performance, it is also comfortable to wear, easy to don and it looks great.  This is important. A lifejacket is no use if it sits in a cabin locker. We have designed a lifejacket that people will actually want to wear."

Retail price about 230euros. 150 for junior.
