Five volunteer crew member’s of Wicklow RNLI lifeboat Station travelled to Bristol over the Easter Weekend to collect a relief lifeboat and bring it back to Wicklow.
While the crew were preparing for the journey one person voiced concern that she might not get an Easter egg as she would be away for the weekend. But everything worked out well and not long after the lifeboat arrived at teatime on Easter Sunday, Station Mechanic Brendan Copeland came to the rescue and presented Lisa O Leary and each of the crew with an Easter Egg.
The relief fleet lifeboat RNLB GEORGE GIBSON previously stationed at Appledore will be at Wicklow for a few months, while RNLB ANNIE BLAKER goes for a refit.
