#Rowing: Trinity’s coxed four exited Henley Royal Regatta on their second day of action today. Orca of Utrecht in the Netherlands slipped into a small early lead in this Prince Albert race but then stretched it to over a length by the Barrier. By the three-quarter mile mark it was a length and a quarter, and Trinity were never able to lessen this. The Dutch stretched the lead again in the enclosures and won by two and three-quarter lengths.

Henley Royal Regatta, Day Three (Selected Results; Irish interest):

Prince Albert (Fours, coxed; Student): Algemene Utrechtse Studenten Roeivereniging Orca, Holland bt Trinity (M Corcoran, P Moreau, L Hawkes, M Kelly; cox C Flynn) 2¾ l; 7:40.

We've got a favour to ask

More people are reading Afloat.ie than ever thanks to the power of the internet but we're in stormy seas because advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news sites, we haven’t put up a paywall because we want to keep our marine journalism open.

Afloat.ie is Ireland's only full–time marine journalism team and it takes time, money and hard work to produce our content.

So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

If everyone chipped in, we can enhance our coverage and our future would be more secure. You can help us through a small donation. Thank you.
