#optimist – The Irish Optimist team flew out to Dziwnow, Poland yesterday for the Optimist dinghy world championships. The event runs from 26th August to 4th September and will include team racing as well as individual racing. The team are Clare Gorman from the National Yacht Club, Gemma McDowell of Malahide YC. Peter Fagan of Skerries SC, Harry Bell Howth YC and Micheal O'Suilleabhain from Kinsale. Peig Staunton is travelling as team mum with Thomas Chaix coaching.
